Community Outreach
Dedicated to promoting the therapeutic, healing power of music and spreading an awareness for the importance of arts education, the National Music Institute provides performance showcases, master classes and lectures in community centers, schools, retirement facilities and hospitals around the country. These performances are opportunities to engage audiences who have never attended a formal concert or who are no longer capable of attending such events.
Harmony Host™
NMI's Harmony Host initiative, a first of its kind, not-for-profit "crowd-funding" platform, is expressly devoted to assisting with the funding of artistic projects whose primary focus is emerging artist development, performance or education. This unique platform provides such projects with administrative guidance and the ability to raise, tax-deductible, community support to nurture the project’s mission. Spring 2025 will mark the expansion of the Harmony Host initiative, with the introduction of NMI’s “gig network.” This exciting expansion will connect emerging artists with performance opportunities including auditions, tours, orchestral openings, recording sessions, and public/private events that desire musical talent. The Harmony Host platform is designed to bridge the gap between emerging talent and real-world opportunities that are essential to developing a successful career in music.
Music Professional Network (launching Spring 2025)
Identifying, recognizing and certifying exceptional music professionals, NMI's Music Professional Network program will serve as a trusted resource for emerging artists, helping them to connect with mentors and industry specialists who can guide their artistic journey. Certification Programs offered in 2025 will include the following:
• Music Educator Certification
• Artist Manager Certification
• Recording Producer Certification
Coaching & Mentorship
Through one-on-one coaching in the classroom and recording production assistance in the studio, NMI is committed to serving as a resource for the creative and professional development of emerging artists. NMI provides expert mentorship as well as immediate financial assistance for those young artists and their families struggling to cover continued musical instruction.
The Power of Music Study
NMI has recently launched a research initiative entitled, The Power of Music, which explores the profound effects that music has on the human body. Specifically, the study examines how different songs and musical elements can trigger a variety of chemical responses in the brain, leading to sensory experiences such as joy, calm, or heightened emotion. This study is an exciting addition to NMI’s mission to explore the therapeutic and healing power of music.
